The rear seat is available with different mounting systems and is installed at the back of your bike. Here's all the information you need about mounting your rear seat:

Do I need a mounting set?
Your Urban Iki bike seat comes standard with the mounting materials of your choice. Do you have a bike with integrated cables running through the stem? We offer special ICR adapters as an accessory for this type of bike.
Do the Urban Iki bicycle seats meet the safety requirements?
Yes. Urban Iki products are designed and produced according to the highest quality standards. The front seats, rear seats, and Junior bike seats have been tested according to the strictest European safety standard EN 14344 and are also tested and approved by TÜV.

The rear bike seat can easily be switched between two bikes. First, determine which mounting option the second bike needs. Can we assist you with anything? Feel free to contact us!Note! Carrier mounting is only possible with the Ta–ke models.
For what ages are the Urban Iki bicycle seats?
Front seat Urban Iki | 9 months till 3 years, max 15 kg/ 93 kg. Your child is allowed to sit in the Urban Iki front seat from the moment it is able to sit independently. Most of the time, this is from an age of 9 months. The maximum weight for your child in the front seat is 15 kg and the maximum length 93 cm. Rear seat Urban Iki | 9 months till 6 years, max 22 kg/ 110 cm. For children younger than 6 years or less than 22 kg, the rear seat of Urban Ik is the most perfect fit. Children up to 110 cm are allowed in the rear seat. Because of the adjustable height of the shoulder paddings, also the youngest are able to use the rear seat.Junior seat Urban Iki | 5 to 10 years, max 35 kg. The Junior seat is suitable for kids from 5 to 10 years and less than 35 kg.

Yes, the Urban Iki bicycle seats are also suitable for e-bikes.
Can I secure my bicycle seat against theft?
For the front seats, locks are available as accessories in our webshop.There are two models in our Collection. The Ta–ke and U–me seat. Each model has its own unique features. Ta–ke: Almost every Ta–ke rear seat has an integrated lock. Except the MIK HD rear seats, these are not equipped with a lock. U–me: The U–me seats are not equipped with an integrated lock.Like the Ta-ke rear seats, our Junior seats come with an integrated lock. (Except the MIK HD Junior seats, these are not equipped with a lock.)
Why doesn’t the MIK HD bike seat come with a lock?

Why doesn’t the MIK HD rear seat have a lock?
The MIK HD rear seat doesn’t come with a built-in lock. The MIK HD mounting system is developed by the manufacturer “MIK”, and they simply chose not to include an anti-theft feature in the system.

Would you still like to lock your rear seat? No problem! You can use the Basil MIK HD lock, which is available as a separate accessory. You place this lock over the MIK HD connection of your rear seat, so it stays securely attached to your luggage carrier and can’t be easily removed.

The Urban Iki rear seat with frame mounting is specially designed for bikes without a luggage carrier. The strong bracket, which you attach to the frame of your bike, has been tested and approved by TÜV. The mounting materials are included as standard with the Urban Iki rear seat with frame mounting. Do you want to know if the Urban Iki rear seat fits your bike? After this explanation, you’ll know for sure.Your bike is suitable for the Urban Iki rear seat with frame mounting if:1. It does not have a (suitable) luggage carrier With the supplied frame bracket, you create a sturdy luggage carrier that can support the weight of the rear seat and your child. The bracket can be clicked off completely if you want to ride without a passenger. It can be mounted in just a few steps – our mounting guide will help you along the way.2. The frame tube has a diameter between 28 and 38 mm The frame tube of your bike is the part of the frame where the seat post is inserted. Can I mount a rear seat on my carbon luggage rack?
No, unfortunately not. For child seats, we don’t recommend using a carbon luggage rack, because the risk of cracks or breakage under load is just too high.
Can I use WD40 when installing my Easyfix rear seat?
No, you shouldn’t use WD40 when installing an Easyfix rear seat. It reacts with the plastic of the seat, which can weaken the material and even cause it to break over time.If you still want to use a lubricant during installation, always choose a product that’s 100% plastic-safe. This way, you can be sure your seat stays securely and safely mounted for the long term
Can I still use a bike basket on my luggage carrier if the mounting frame of the rear seat is attached?
No, that’s not possible. The mounting frame stays on your bike, which means there’s no space left for a basket. But good news! If you’re using an Easyfix rear seat, you can place a basket on your carrier once the seat has been removed.
Can the feet go inside the pannier bags?
We don’t recommend this. The bike seat is specially designed to be used together with the footrests and foot straps. Inside pannier bags, your child’s feet don’t get proper support and they can end up sitting uncomfortably or even unsafely, especially on longer rides. It also means the seat no longer meets the official safety standard, because the footrests are part of that certification.If you still decide to place the feet inside the bags, that’s completely at your own responsibility.

The shoulder straps keep slipping off my child. What can I do?
No worries, we’ve got an easy fix! For some children, the shoulder straps can slip off while cycling – for example, due to a slippery jacket or because your little one moves them aside.Luckily, we have a smart accessory for this! The Urban Iki seat belt clip connects the left and right shoulder straps, helping them stay neatly in place. That way, your child stays safe and comfortable on every ride.Good to know: the position of the shoulder straps is based on European regulations, which follow average height and width measurements. But every child is different – so the standard fit may not be ideal for everyone. The seat belt clip is a simple way to adjust this for your child.
I’ve got an AVS rack (not an AVS+ one). Will an AVS+ bike seat fit?
No, the AVS+ seat only clicks onto an AVS+ rack and won’t fit a regular AVS rack. We get that it can be a bit confusing, so make sure to double-check your rack or just reach out to us, we’re happy to help you figure out which rack you’ve got!
Which bikes does an AVS+ bike seat fit on?
