The Urban Iki bio rear seat in Oishi Beige – Bincho Black is partly made of bioplastic, produced from rice husks. You can see this in the subtle specks left by the rice husks in the seat of the rear seat. This makes the rear seat a sustainable eye-catcher.

The wave pattern on the back of the rear seat is inspired by Japanese culture and traditions. These waves bring peaks of happiness — that’s the philosophy! Our stylish color Oishi Beige refers to the enchanting silver grass from Japanese gardens. This warm color invites adventure and growth, just like new beginnings in a magical landscape. Our stylish black color, Bincho Black, is inspired by Japanese Binchō-tan, a special type of charcoal used for rituals, symbolizing strength and protection. The Urban Iki bike seat features a unique design that has won several Design Awards! The beautiful and soft lines provide extra space during cycling together and make the seat lightweight. Unique 5-point harness system: safe and user-friendly

The 5-point safety buckle secures both the shoulders and legs, ensuring your little one stays firmly in place during a bike ride, even if they like to play with the shoulder straps. The left and right parts of the 5-point safety buckle can be clicked into the buckle separately. You can close it with one hand, leaving the other hand free to keep the bike steady. Safety first! The buckle can also be flipped forward, freeing up the seat area so your child doesn’t sit on the buckle. This gives you all the space you need to place your child in the seat.

Easy to swap with other MIK accessories

More and more bikes are equipped with an integrated MIK HD system in the rear rack, allowing you to quickly switch between different MIK accessories. At Urban Iki, we believe in the convenience of this system, which is why we’ve developed special MIK HD rear seats that can be clicked directly on these racks. No mounting materials or tools needed!

Please note: the MIK HD system is not the same as the regular MIK system. MIK Heavy Duty is specifically designed to support the extra weight that comes with a child seat.

Weatherproof in all seasons

Your rear seat won’t stay wet after it rains. The material of the cushion is water repellent, and rainwater naturally drains away under the seat. Perfect for the Danish weather and traffic!

You can fully customize the rear bike seat to your child’s needs without needing any tools! With just one hand, you can adjust the height of the footrests. Additionally, you can easily loosen or tighten the shoulder and foot straps.

Every child deserves to grow up in a healthy, green environment! That’s why we look ahead to the future of our planet, and back at our little ones in their safe bike seats. Our bio bike seats are partially made from bioplastic produced from rice husks. This rice husk is a by-product of the food industry, for example in Japan, that doesn’t go to waste this way. If you look closely, you can see subtle flecks of rice husk in the material of our bio bike seats!

We assemble all our products locally in our energy-neutral building in Nijverdal, located in the eastern part of the Netherlands. We use smart packaging, reuse materials, invest in cycling as a means of transportation, and produce products that are recyclable.

We see it as our responsibility to take good care of the people around us. That’s why Urban Iki aims to improve local employment. We offer jobs within our team for people who are distanced from the job market and also collaborate with the social workplace nearby. Here, many accessories and semi-finished products are assembled for us on a daily basis.

Mounting guide Does it fit my bike?

Your bike is suitable for the rear seat with MIK HD mounting if it has a MIK HD luggage carrier. A MIK HD luggage carrier always meets the EN ISO 11243:2016 safety standard. You can recognize a MIK HD carrier by the letters ‘MIK HD’ on it. Note: just ‘MIK’ is not the right system. Read more in this blog about the specifications your bike must meet.
