Bike & Mobility Expert

Aron is bike and mobility expert at Urban Iki and is deeply connected to the world of cycling and family mobility. Through close collaborations with bike brands such as Gazelle, Batavus and Sparta, he stays continuously up to date with the latest developments.
These partnerships go beyond regular contact. Urban Iki works with many partners under NDA, a Non Disclosure Agreement, meaning that information about new developments and designs cannot yet be shared publicly. This allows bike brands to take Urban Iki products into account at an early stage of their design process. Aron plays an important role in this by exchanging knowledge and working together on solutions that function in real life.
From carrier systems such as MIK and Racktime to developments around cargo bikes and even fat bikes, Aron ensures everything works seamlessly together.
“In the end, we all share the same goal. Helping parents ride safely and enjoy time on the bike with their child.”
With a background in international business and experience abroad, Aron approaches mobility with a broad perspective. His international studies and exposure to different cultures have taught him to look beyond the Dutch situation. He understands how mobility differs from country to country and which solutions truly work in daily family life.
This wider European perspective helps him interpret developments and translate them into products that are practical and relevant. Not just what is technically possible, but what feels natural in use.
Together with his brother Ralph, he represents the next generation within Urban Iki. While Aron focuses on the market, mobility and developments in the cycling world, Ralph translates these insights into materials, production and product quality. This combination creates a strong balance between what is made and what is needed.
“We complement each other well. In the end, we work towards the same goal. A product that works from start to finish.”
Aron also ensures that insights from the market reach customers. He works closely with customer service and bike shops to make sure information is clear and useful, so parents can make the right choices with confidence.
Besides being an expert, Aron is also a father. With a young son who has just started primary school, cycling is a big part of everyday life.
His advice to parents is simple. Start with a front seat.
“It’s not just practical, it’s more fun. You experience everything together. You see the world through their eyes. From waving at people passing by to being amazed by everything around you. That’s what makes cycling with your child so special.”
Aron is always observing how products are used in real life. Whether he is out riding or spotting an Urban Iki seat somewhere, he watches, learns and thinks about how things can be improved.
That way of looking at things did not come out of nowhere. As the son of Ronald, founder of Urban Iki, he grew up with a strong sense of how to look at products, use and quality. The feeling for the brand and attention to detail are naturally part of who he is.
Today, he continues that legacy in his own way by constantly focusing on how products are used in daily life and what parents truly need.
“You build on what is already there, but you also look at how it can be improved for the next generation.”
With his market knowledge, his role within the team and his experience as a parent, Aron ensures that Urban Iki does not just create products, but solutions that fit modern family life.
