Meet the Urban Iki Family: Danique & Néla
Cycling is so much more than just a way to get from A to B. It’s adventure, freedom, and quality time with your little one. For this edition of "Meet the Urban Iki family," we asked Danique and Néla what they love most about cycling.
Danique and Néla first joined us during the Urban Iki balance bike shoot in 2024. What a fantastic day that was! The atmosphere was relaxed, the weather was perfect, and it was extra special because, just like us, Danique and Néla are from Nijverdal—so it felt like a home game! We were so happy to have these two cheerful and beautiful ladies with us.Cycling as the best family moment
For Danique and her family, cycling is the perfect way to unwind together. “I love going for a ride with my family in the evening after dinner,” she shares. “We cycle across the heath, past the river to see the animals, and finish with a stop at the ice cream shop.” Sounds like the perfect evening, right?
A first ride to remember forever
Some cycling memories stay with you forever. For Danique, it was the moment Néla got to ride in the bike seat for the first time. “It was spring, the sun was shining, and we immediately took a beautiful ride through the forest. I’ll never forget it.”

Danique and Néla took part in the Urban Iki balance bike shoot and enjoyed every moment. “The atmosphere was super relaxed, Néla could just play, and we could be completely ourselves,” Danique says. “She still talks about how she raced over the gravel path and ran away from me when we tried to get a cute hand-in-hand shot. That’s so typical of Néla!”
Favorite Urban Iki product? Easy choice!
“The bike seats! They’re so easy to mount and adjust, and they look beautiful too.” But that’s not all—Danique also recommends Urban Iki to everyone because of how quick and simple it is to (dis)mount the seats.
The Iki feeling? That’s living!
For Danique, the Iki feeling means freedom and enjoyment. “It’s the feeling that you’re truly LIVING.” And we couldn’t agree more. Going on adventures together, discovering the world—one bike ride at a time.
