Happy Easter from Urban Iki! 🐣🌷
To attach the child seat to your own bike, you’ll need the frame mounting bracket, the frame mounting block with screws, the mounting frame, an Allen key, and your own bike. Curious if the rear seat with frame mounting fits your bike? In this blog, we’ll tell you all about it.
For this, you’ll need the two leg parts, along with the Urban Iki rear seat. Slide the two leg parts together so they are securely attached. Then place the rear seat on its back, hang down the safety strap, and slide the leg parts into the grooves on either side of the rear seat. Make sure you hear a ‘click’. This indicates that the leg parts are securely in place.
First, place a washer around each bolt (four in total) and make sure the covers under the mounting block are closed. Then insert the bolts into the four designated holes on the top of the mounting block.
Place a dowel over the bolts and determine the correct height for the frame block by holding the bracket next to it. The frame should extend above the wheel. Tighten the bolts (clockwise) with the Allen key.
Slide the cover onto the mounting block (from top to bottom) until you hear a ‘click’.
Now that the mounting block is securely attached to the frame of your bicycle, you can insert the frame bracket into the mounting block. Place the bracket in the designated holes on the backside. Please note: only when you hear a clear ‘click’, the frame mounting bracket is securely in place!
Now it’s time to mount the Urban Iki bicycle seat on the frame bracket. Keep the assembled rear seat, mounting frame, and Allen wrench at hand.
Use the Allen wrench to loosen the hooks on the mounting frame. After loosening, you can slide the holders to make the mounting frame fit the frame mounting bracket.
Make sure to place the mounting frame on the frame mounting bracket. Ensure that the axle of your bike stays within the four triangles (located on top of the mounting frame).
Use the Allen wrench to tighten the hooks (clockwise). This firmly attaches the mounting frame onto the frame mounting bracket.
Good job: the mounting frame is now firmly attached to the frame mounting bracket. Get the bicycle seat for the most important step: attaching the Urban Iki bicycle seat to your bicycle.
Now that the seat is securely in place, adjust the footrests to the correct height by lifting the levers at the back of the leg parts.
The shoulder straps can be adjusted to two heights and tightened or loosened using the buckles.
The Urban Iki bicycle seat is easy to detach. This allows you to cycle without a seat when you go out without your child.
Unlock the rear seat. Release the safety strap around the frame of your bike. Grasp the bike seat by the buckle, press down the seat clip, and pull the attachment slide that you feel at the bottom backward to remove it from the bike. It’s as simple as that!
Press the square black cap of the frame mounting block slightly down to remove the frame mounting bracket.
