Step 1: Attach the foot straps and place the footrests
Slide the foot straps into the footrests with the correct side facing forward. Then click the footrests into the bike seat.
To attach the child seat to your own bike, you’ll need the U–me rear seat, the frame mounting bracket, the frame mounting block with screws, the mounting frame, an Allen key, and your own bike. Curious if the rear seat with frame mounting fits your bike? In this blog, we’ll tell you all about it.
Slide the foot straps into the footrests with the correct side facing forward. Then click the footrests into the bike seat.
First, place a washer around each bolt (four in total) and make sure the covers under the mounting block are closed. Then insert the bolts into the four designated holes on the top of the mounting block.
Place a dowel over the bolts and determine the correct height for the frame block by holding the bracket next to it. The frame should extend above the wheel. Tighten the bolts (clockwise) with the Allen key.
Slide the cover onto the mounting block (from top to bottom) until you hear a ‘click’.
Now that the mounting block is securely attached to the frame of your bicycle, you can insert the frame bracket into the mounting block. Place the bracket in the designated holes on the backside. Please note: only when you hear a clear ‘click’, the frame mounting bracket is securely in place!
Now it’s time to mount the Urban Iki bicycle seat on the frame bracket. Keep the assembled rear seat, mounting frame, and Allen wrench at hand.
Make sure the clamps are wide enough apart to create space for placing the rear seat on your bike. Do this by pressing the rotary knob and then turning it to the left.
Place the Easyfix rear seat on the luggage carrier. Ensure that the safety strap rests on the seat. Make sure the four clamps fit around the luggage carrier. Turn the rotary knob to the left if needed to widen the space between the clamps.
Turn the rotary knob to the right to secure the seat to the luggage carrier. Check if the seat is firmly attached by moving it back and forth briefly. The rear seat is now securely attached to your bike.
The Urban Iki bicycle seat is easy to detach. This allows you to cycle without a seat when you go out without your child.
Press the square black cap of the frame mounting block slightly down to remove the frame mounting bracket inlcluding the bike seat.
