The Urban Iki bio rear seat in Haniwa Brown – Bincho Black is partly made of bioplastic, produced from rice husks. You can see this in the subtle specks left by the rice husks in the shell of the rear seat. This makes the rear seat a sustainable eye-catcher.

The wave pattern on the back of the rear seat is inspired by Japanese culture and traditions. These waves bring peaks of happiness — that’s the philosophy! Our stylish color Haniwa Brown is close to our Japanese roots. 1.500 years ago, Haniwa dolls made of clay were made in Japan, and the dolls still have deep meaning in Japan. It symbolizes a direct connection to the earth and stability. Our stylish black color, Bincho Black, is inspired by Japanese Binchō-tan, a special type of charcoal used for rituals, symbolizing strength and protection. Unique 5-point harness system: safe and user-friendly

The 5-point safety buckle secures both the shoulders and legs, ensuring your little one stays firmly in place during a bike ride, even if they like to play with the shoulder straps. The left and right parts of the 5-point safety buckle can be clicked into the buckle separately. You can close it with one hand, leaving the other hand free to keep the bike steady. Safety first! The buckle can also be flipped forward, freeing up the seat area so your child doesn’t sit on the buckle. This gives you all the space you need to place your child in the seat.

Secured against theft with integrated lock

The rear seat is equipped with an integrated lock to protect against theft. Two keys are provided to easily lock the seat, so that it cannot simply be removed.

Mounting for bikes without a suitable luggage rack

Mount the included frame block and the frame bracket on the frame tube under your saddle. Then mount the included mounting frame on this frame bracket, where you can click the rear seat into place. Extra handy: you can remove the seat along with the frame bracket with just one click. This way, your bike is completely free when you’re not using the child seat.

Weatherproof in all seasons

Your rear seat won’t stay wet after it rains. The material of the cushion is water repellent, and rainwater naturally drains away under the seat. Perfect for the English weather and traffic!

Attach the included mounting frame to your luggage rack, then simply click the rear seat into place. This mounting system is especially ideal if you plan to use the rear seat on two bikes. You can easily switch the rear seat to the second bike, where another mounting frame is installed.

You can fully customize the rear bike seat to your child’s needs without needing any tools! With just one hand, you can adjust the height of the footrests. Additionally, you can easily loosen or tighten the shoulder and foot straps.

Our bio bike seats are partially made from bioplastic produced from rice husks. This rice husk is a by-product of the food industry, for example in Japan, that doesn’t go to waste this way. If you look closely, you can see subtle flecks of rice husk in the material of our bio bike seats!

We assemble all our products locally in our energy-neutral building in Nijverdal, located in the eastern part of the Netherlands. We use smart packaging, reuse materials, invest in cycling as a means of transportation, and produce products that are recyclable.

We see it as our responsibility to take good care of the people around us. That’s why Urban Iki aims to improve local employment. We offer jobs within our team for people who are distanced from the job market and also collaborate with the social workplace nearby. Mounting guide Does it fit my bike?

Your bike is suitable for the rear seat with frame mounting if your bicycle does not have a (suitable) luggage carrier. In this case, you mount a frame bracket on the frame tube of your bicycle.
