Mounting the Urban Iki front seat: this is what you need
Thanks to the compact adapter, you can easily place the Urban Iki front seat on the front of your bicycle. The adapter makes it possible to mount our bicycle seat on bicycles with a short stem. Make sure you leave at least 19 mm of stem free in height to place the Urban Iki adapter. The mounting frame can be finished off nicely with the included cover.
Mounting the bicycle seat for a 25-28 mm Ahead stem in 6 steps
Step 1: Click on the footrests
Push the levers of the footrests upwards. Slide the footrests onto the bicycle seat on both sides. Hold the bicycle seat firmly and give a firm tap on the bottom of the footrest so that it slides over the safety lug. When the correct height is set, press the levers down.
Step 2: Release the Ahead stem
Use an allen wrench or a similar tool to release your Ahead handlebar from the steerer tube. For more information about the right tools to use, consult your bike’s instruction manual. Is there another ring around the tube? Remove it and lay it aside.
Step 3: Get the compact adapter ready for installation
pen the compact adapter by loosening the two Allen screws with an Allen key. The circle is now open. Press the two half moons into the two half circles. Make sure to use the parts with the description ’25-28 mm’. The compact adapter now has the correct size for the stem of your bicycle
Step 4: Mount the compact adapter on the stem
Now press the compact adapter onto the stem, with the Allen screws pointing backwards. Hold tight with one hand while tightening both Allen bolts with your other hand. The adapter is secure enough if you can no longer move it back and forth. Tighten if necessary.
Step 5: Place the Ahead handlebar back on the steerer tube
Place the Ahead handlebar back on the steerer tube, and use the original manual for your bicycle or e-bike. Make sure the stem is firmly secured and cannot move downwards.
Step 6: Click the front seat on the bike
Take the bicycle seat and push the tab at the bottom upwards so that you can slide the seat into the wide slot at the back of the adapter. The seat is in the correct position when you hear a clear ‘click’. Check additionally whether the seat is firmly attached by moving the bicycle seat back and forth.
Demounting the Urban Iki front seat from an Ahead stem
Thanks to the Urban Iki adapter, you can temporarily remove the seat. To do so, you do not have to remove the entire mounting block. This is a great solution if you are going out alone. Push the tab of the seat at the bottom and lift it. Do you want to remove the entire Urban Iki adapter? Remove the Ahead handlebar and disassemble the adapter by loosening the two Allen screws at the rear. As a final step, place the bicycle handlebar back on the stem.

The wind in your hair with Urban Iki
Now your little one can enjoy your rides together. The compact adapter offers the possibility to add an Urban Iki windshield later. This prevents numb hands. You place this in place of the cover. Extra nice: the Urban Iki styling set! This allows you to change the color combinations of the chair.
